I’ve found myself kind of enamored lately with a movie that’s scheduled for release on August 10th called “Hope Springs.” I stumbled across some of the movie stills, a few of the little Someecards, and the unparalleled truths found in the cartoons from the “Hope Springs Marriage Guide” on the movie’s Facebook Fan Page and have to admit, I’m kinda excited to see this thing. To me, it almost looks a little bit like “Something’s Gotta Give” (which is already 9 years old, if you can believe that!) since it appears to be catering to a (ahem) more “mature” audience.
The moves stars Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones and Steve Carell and this is where I need to make a confession. First of all, for some reason I always get Meryl Streep mixed up with Glenn Close. I have no clue why, especially since I haven’t seen Glenn Close in a movie since… well….back my stirrup pants and shoulder pad days (think “Fatal Attraction,” 1987). But what’s worse than the Meryl/Glenn muddle is that I also get Tommy Lee Jones mixed up with Tommy Lee. The first time I saw Tommy Lee Jones was when I went to see “Men in Black.” I couldn’t believe that he and Pamela Anderson were actually married.
So that’s that. Even if “Hope Springs” ends up stinking, the anticipation of seeing it is getting me a little pumped up. Maybe after I see the movie, I’ll understand what Pamela sees in Tommy…

Oh my…I think we should start something called “The Hope Springs Movie Guide” for you! There is absolutely no way anyone should be able to mix up Meryl Streep and Glenn Close. As for Tommy Lee and Tommy Lee Jones – the similarity ends with their names.
You’ve got just a few weeks before August 10th Diane to bridge the gap dating from your big hair 80′s days to now to catch up on the lead characters of “Hope Springs Marriage Guide” because each of the leading stars are very accomplished actors. With them in the cast, it’s bound to be a good movie and now I’m looking forward to it too.
Soooo….what you’re saying is that there are more actors out there than just the ones from the 80′s? I thought I was done with “school” for the summer but I’ll start doing some research.
LOL! You are too funny! Let me know how it is…I probably won’t see it until it hits Redbox.
Who knows? Maybe I”ll be standing at Redbox in a few months to see the movie for the first time, too.
